Are there any known issues with options 122 or 140 becoming non-functional after a PSA firmware upgrade?
This is a known issue when performing a PSA firmware upgrade and using a PSA IP address that starts with 10 (10.x.x.x). The problem is that the PSA internally uses a 10.x.x.x network to talk to the wideband DIF. When you upgrade firmware and use this IP address, the instrument can have problem communicating with wideband DIF hardware. At the point in the update process when firmware for option 122 is loaded the PSA screen indicates “Waiting for WB DIF to initialize” for a long time and eventually times out. Then the update program reports “Error +1000: “Failed to write to staging file” and then goes on to load the firmware for the next option. After the update program is finished and the PSA is rebooted, it reports “WBIF has incompatible revision”. The wideband mode option does not appear and option 122 / 140 no longer appears in the Show System screen, however the license key is still listed. The fix is to change the PSA IP address (192.168.100.2 and 192.169.100.3 work well) and then reload firmware. The firmware upgrade will install the core firmware, then install the personalities and WBIF firmware. You must then cycle power after the personalities have been loaded for the WBIF firmware to reload into the WBDIF before it will work again.
